The Long Trail of Vermont

I hiked the Long Trail of Vermont in September of 2016 from North to South. The journey took a month- 5 days to get there, three weeks of hiking, and 4 days to drive home. My two best friends, Lyssa and Tina, (who happen to be dogs,) hiked it with me every step of the way. Then I spent the next 18 months writing about it! The book was released in May 2018, and is available on PayPal or Amazon, or if you are passing through the Placerville area you can pick up a copy at Animal Outreach!

My Trail Journal
Gifts of the Trail: A Long Trail Journal

As I was hiking the trail I kept a journal, which became the basis for End to End. The title of my journal is “Gifts of the Trail” and it is available on kindle.  The proceeds are dedicated to be donated to the Green Mountain Club.

About The Green Mountain Club

The Green Mountain Club protects and maintains the 275 mile Long Trail. This involves a massive amount of work that you can only appreciate by actually hiking the trail! They staff and maintain all of the shelters, bridges, privys and those all-important pucheon walkways over the delicate alpine bogs. They work with landowners and legislators to conserve and protect the beautiful mountain ecosystem through which the trail passes, and ensure that hikers have a chance to discover the delight of  a pristine wilderness experience. They recruit and organize communities of volunteers to come out for trail work days and fundraising events. As a result of the efforts of the Green Mountain Club, the Long Trail has become a symbol of pride and joy for many Vermonters, whether they are hikers or not!
